"Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way; on
purpose, in the present moment, and nonjudgmentally. This kind of attention nurtures greater awareness, clarity and
acceptance of present-moment reality. It wakes us up to the fact that our lives unfold only in moments. If we
are not fully present for many of these moments, we may not only miss what is most valuable in our lives but also fail to
realize the richness and depth of our possibilities for growth and transformation."
Jon Kabat-Zinn
In this workshop you have an opportunity to turn inward, to experience your breath,
body, feelings, and mind in a direct and intentional way. Through periods of guided and silent sitting and walking meditation
you will experience techniques of mindfulness whose practice aims to bring us into the present moment, and more fully in touch
with who we are. When we practice the principles of attention in mindfulness meditation, we learn skills that can enrich
our everyday lives, allowing us to experience a greater sense of well being, calmness, and peace. Deborah
is a Registered Yoga Teacher who has practiced Mindfulness Meditation for 16 years, facilitated
a meditation group for 3 years and has taught Mindfulness Meditation Workshops to inmates in Ohio. For more information
about registration, pls., contact Sue at suepentland2001@yahoo.com
